"Unembedded" is a national touring exhibit of 60 visually stunning images captured by four independent journalists working outside the U.S. military embedding program. These images tell the story of the Iraq War's impact on the lives of the Iraqi people on the ground. It is a powerful expression of the effects of war that go largelyignored by the mainstream media. Work by Ghaith Abdul-ahad, Kael Alford, Thorne Anderson, and Rita Leistner.
This art exhibition runs through December 5th at the undergraduate library on Red Square at the University of Washington-Seattle. The photos will be displayed throughout the different floors of the library along with panels describing the impact of the war on the Iraqi civilians, the soldiers, the American public, and the journalists who have covered the war. It is free and open to the public nearly round the clock as Odegaard library is open 24 hours a day, except on weekends and holidays.
